Ian Livingstone would later write Dicing with Dragons – An Introduction to Role-playing Games. I should dig it out for a return trip one of these days. I still own my copy of the original Fighting Fantasy RPG and about eight Fighting Fantasy solo adventure books (including the original Warlock of Firetop Mountain adventure). It all began about a year ago when I was searching for a solo role playing to play because my regular gaming group had split to go their own ways. It's great that these books will be made available Fighting Fantasy -- via "The Well" -- was also my introduction to rpgs. (Verification word: "Flatuoso". Fighting Fantasy: The Warlock Of Firetop Mountain, developed by Laughing Jackal, can best be described as an interactive Choose Your Own Path adventure book, which makes sense as that's what this game is based on. They wanted to write a manual on how to play a role-playing game, yet ended up writing Fighting Fantasy Gamebooks instead. The very back of this booklet has a Star Wars opening crawl, presumably setting up the introductory adventure. Arion Games have teamed up with Cubicle 7 to bring us that old stalwart of introductory RPGs – Advanced Fighting Fantasy. However, I missed picking up the 'Advanced' version decades ago. The next Each of the four available characters has their own token, with tokens also provided for TIE Fighters and a YT-1300 freighter. There are no cutscenes or spoken dialogue. I have been on a pilgrimage to complete my Fighting Fantasy RPG collection. I somewhat distantly remember playing and owning a few of the books growing up.
